It began with skin issues of my own. Growing up I felt anything but pretty. Throughout puberty and beyond, I had acne, uneven skin tone, redness and post-acne scarring. In my early teens I had no makeup skills and my skincare knowledge started and ended with Clean & Clear pads. Throughout high school, I never went a day without foundation. I played volleyball year round, sweating under layers of makeup therefore making my acne even worse. The first few guys I dated never saw me without makeup on (yes I slept in a full face to avoid embarrassment of my far less than perfect skin). But it didn’t end there. My acne and blotchy skin followed me into early adulthood. I tried every drug store product available and nothing worked long term. Because the truth is, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I was putting band aids on much deeper issues.
From the time I was very little, I was always obsessed with all things beauty. I became a makeup artist around 18 and when I was 22 I decided to enroll in aesthetics school. It wasn’t until then that I truly learned how to heal my skin. I found out that there was SO much more to it than some pimple patches and “drying out the acne”. I learned how to heal my skin from the inside out, found quality products and product lines and learned how to use them.
When I began my career as a licensed aesthetician I became obsessed with helping other women treat their skin problems and my drive to learn as much as I possibly could about skin grew more and more every day.
When I was 29, I had an itch for even more. I wanted to be able to perform more invasive procedures and treatments like injectables to help my clients achieve all of their beauty goals. I attended nursing school and became a registered nurse when I was 31.
Some may think that aesthetics & beauty is superficial or shallow. But I believe that beauty connects us. Discovering, embracing and nurturing beauty within ourselves and in the world around us is meaningful and profound. This work is truly inspiring. I see beauty in every individual and my purpose is to protect and enhance it. While helping others look beautiful is rewarding, empowering them to feel and believe in their own beauty is transformative. Beauty is not just something I create—it’s the driving force behind my passion.
